Pattaya Beach is one of the most popular travel destinations in Thailand. One major factor is the location close to Bangkok. There is no other beach that is easier to reach than in Pattaya. As many foreigners flock there and tourism is still booming, Pattaya has become a very cosmopolitan city that provides many things to do and see. Pattaya Beach is one of the main beaches in the city and especially well known for its nightlife activities. Although some city officials have been trying to move these activities to the South of Pattaya Beach, they have not been too successful with it. Pattaya beach is around 4 kilometers long and faces Pattaya Bay. Along the beach, you have a promenade, similar to what you would see in European beach towns. The northern end of Pattaya Beach is the more relaxing one with less activity going on. The Southern part of Pattaya Beach though is more lively. Many shops, restaurants, boutiques, bars, nightclubs and other entertainment options can be found here. There are also a lot of hotels located on Pattaya Beach so it is quite easy to find an accommodation that suits your needs. Concerning the beach itself and the water quality, Pattaya Beach is not bad. It has been cleaned up completely in recent years to improve the cleanliness of the water and reduce pollution. That means right now, the water quality is on the best level since many years. Still, you will not see as many people going into the sea than you would on an island such as Koh Samui for example. Most people will come to Pattaya Beach, rent one of the umbrellas and just relax.
